The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests of floors with no carpet, and they are particularly adept in cleaning hair from dogs. However, they do have some flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the Q5's shortcomings is its navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. best robot hoover 's thus susceptible to get stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate rooms with lots of people well during our tests. Also, it doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of an area.
It's still a good value for those whose office or home has lots of unfinished floors and you're looking to save money. It's also very quiet and can be used while you're at work or school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming feature that's available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle, however. If you're in need of it mop, the mopping pad can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that can mop floors. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it simple to clean and efficient in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also comes with an impressive suction system and a self-emptying bin. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets but it falls behind some competitors when it comes to deep cleaning.
This high-performing mop and vacuum combo utilizes advanced sensors to dodge obstacles and pet waste and it will learn your home's layout over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. You can modify the schedule of cleaning and even customize zones through the well-designed app. Its battery life is average in comparison to other models.
If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to pull back and extend its mops. This can help avoid cross-contamination. The flex arm can be used to reach under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
In tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete the entire house with the battery at 66 percent left. It did a decent cleaning job on a variety of rooms and floors with various kinds of flooring, including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was great and it was able to avoid fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles of cables.
It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically emptys into its base, and supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. good robot vacuum can also clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature we haven't seen before on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
This mop and vacuum combination has a sleek, circular design that looks much like a Roomba model than the bulky models of the competitors. It's among our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The newest model from iRobot is its most advanced model, with features that are cutting-edge like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).
It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that scored 100% in our tests due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.
The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is simple to use. It has a simple mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's an eerily noisy device that could be a problem if you run it in the morning before work or at night as you try to sleep.
It's also quite expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally capable and better looking. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful, but it's going to cost you more and produce more noise.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot vacuum and mop. It has a range of features that are advanced and will make you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that can take charge of both vacuuming and mopping, with a multifunction dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, and washes and dries its mop pads.
The smart robot employs the combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and identify obstacles, and navigates more effectively than some of its premium rivals. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, although this wasn't quite reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.
Its vacuum has a high suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to get the job done. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vac works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home according to the amount of dirt they are.
For larger homes it's recommended to choose a model with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean one particular area of your house via the app or voice commands. If you have furniture, a stair-mode is also useful. Additionally the recharge and resume function that allows your robot vacuum to pick up right where it left off is great for busy families.
5. iRobot Roomba RX3
The RX3 is more sophisticated than the price suggests. It has a great vacuuming performance and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion that is cleaner than the other mop cleaners for robots we've tested. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app, and a self emptying base that can be washed.
The iRobot app is designed to guide you through an exercise in mapping which collects information about your floorplan and any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. It can be used to make cleaning schedules, set up a spot clean or to prioritize your most filthy rooms for better performance. The app also gives access to many options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.
It is also able to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It is equipped with a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs to remove pet hair. You can also set up a spot-clean that thoroughly cleans an area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It does a good job vacuuming but is more prone to get caught on low thresholds and is louder than the other top robot vacuums we've tried. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
